The Reading Challenge has begun!! This is a Kindergarten through 8th grade challenge that encourages our students to read. They have 100 days to read a collective 1000 hours!! If the goal is met they earn a whole school field trip to the Aquatic Center in Usk! The challenge started February 23rd and will end on June 2nd.

📚🎢 Silverwood Read 2 Ride Reminder! 🎢📚
Heads up - Read 2 Ride reading logs are due this Friday, February 27th!
Students who complete and turn in their reading logs with 10 logged hours will earn a FREE admission ticket to Silverwood Theme Park through the Read 2 Ride program. 🎉 What a fun reward for all their efforts!
If your student needs an extra log, copies are available in the school office or from their teacher. Please be sure to submit completed forms by Friday so we can get everything processed on time.

Onion Creek School's 3rd through 8th grade students took a learning excursion to 49º North Mountain Resort on February 17th. This field trip is a great opportunity for the students to learn about different job opportunities, as well as gaining skills through experiential learning. We had fresh snow, mild temperatures, and happy kids who made us proud to say we were from Onion Creek School!

The intermediate class has a new routine that has quickly become an eagerly anticipated activity. During "Reading Practice", students may choose to read on their own, or with a partner. An hour goes swiftly as they take turns reading and discussing self-selected books.

We’re excited to share that our students will be heading to 49 Degrees North for a ski field trip on Tuesday, February 17!
⚠️ Important deadline:
Both the school permission slip AND the 49° North online registration must be completed by this Friday, February 6.

📚🎢 Silverwood Read 2 Ride is back! 🎢📚
We’re excited to once again participate in the Silverwood Read 2 Ride program! Students can earn a FREE ticket to Silverwood Theme Park by tracking their reading hours and completing the challenge. All they have to do is read (or be read to!) for TEN hours, and turn in their signed reading log.
Reading logs have already gone home, but if you need another please reach out to your student's teacher or the office.

Hello Onion Creek School Families! We hope you’ve enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer! As we gear up for another exciting school year, it’s time to get ready for new adventures in student learning.
