Free COVID-19 Testing at

Onion Creek School

Onion Creek School District has partnered with the non-profit group, Learn to Return to implement school-based COVID-19 testing to minimize transmission of the disease.  Learn to Return provides free COVID-19 testing programs for schools and surrounding communities. 

Why is Onion Creek participating in the COVID-19 testing program?            

• Our top priority is to keep students & staff safe while staying open for full-time, in-person learning. School-based testing is an easy and effective tool to do this.
• Due to our location, testing on-site at the school will enable our Onion Creek families & Onion Creek community members to save the time and hassle of traveling to town and waiting for testing
• Testing & identification will help us prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep students & staff safe and in school thus reducing “lost learning” days and potential outbreaks

What is the test like? 

The COVID-19 test involves a sterile cotton swab and rubbing it on the inside (about ¼-½” inch) of both nostrils and placing it into the test kit, with results in 15 minutes.   No pain, just a little “tickle” in your nose!

How will the testing program work?          

Parents and Onion Creek Community members who would like their children tested or get tested themselves, Onion Creek will offer  “Drive-Up” Rapid Tests” in our parking lot on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
