Onion Creek Middle School Science:
The science curriculum at Onion Creek School “allows students to build their understanding of science through investigation and gives them the skills necessary to support scientific statements and challenge scientific assertions with information and evidence.”

Year C curriculum:2009-2010

  • Life Strand- Human Body Cells and Heredity
  • Physical Strand - Waves (sound, water, light)

Annual Independent Project: students explore a concept of choice using the scientific method.

Units align with Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements and are built with an emphasis on:
•Inquiry/Action!: questioning, identifying problems, designing and conducting experiments and solutions, explaining, modeling and communication
•Reading: for information, following directions, performing a task, evaluating the validity of a source, and investigation.
