Welcome to Onion Creek School
The Onion Creek School District holds high standards for
all children and staff. Instruction is personalized and small learning
environments increase student contact with teachers. Because we are a small
school district, we have multi-age classrooms where students have the
opportunity to know each other and create relationships with all staff
members and with other students across grade
levels.
The staff at Onion
Creek School recognizes the importance of holding consistent, high content
standards and performance expectations for all students. We believe that all
children can learn and meet these standards. We recognize obstacles that may
be a barrier to learning for some children and we use all available
resources to help children overcome those obstacles.
The teaching staff members constantly examine
their practice to ensure that they hold high, consistent standards and
expectations for all students. All certified staff has worked on aligning
curriculum, instruction and assessment to meet the essential academic
learning requirements. In an ongoing effort to assess our practice, we
annually revise curriculum, instruction and assessment to ensure a 'good
fit' to current student needs and improved state
standards.
Children and families
are valued for their achievements and contributions at Onion Creek School.
Parents and students have many opportunities to contribute to the learning
process during annual goal setting and semi-annual conferences. We meet with
all students and parents 3 times a year. We believe it is important to work
together with all students and parents to celebrate success or problem solve
when necessary. We often have 100% of our students and parents attendance
these conferences.
Thank you for visiting
our site and we hope you will enjoy looking at our school. We extend an
invitation for a visit if you are in the area. We would really appreciate it if you would give us a call in advance.
